If you have pre-existing medical conditions, your coverage under visitor to Canada insurance depends on your age:
For individuals aged 55 or younger: Pre-existing medical conditions are covered by our enhanced insurance policy, provided these conditions have been stable in the last 180 days. Stability means no new symptoms or changes in existing symptoms, no worsening of existing symptoms, and no new medication or treatment recommended by your physician (refer to the policy wordings for more details).
For individuals aged between 56 and 85: If you are purchasing the Enhanced insurance policy, you must complete a medical declaration form to confirm your eligibility for coverage of pre-existing medical conditions. Our online application process will prompt you to fill out the medical declaration form.
We offer three types of plans for visitor insurance: Basic, Standard, and Enhanced. Each plan has different choices for coverage and deductibles.
Coverage:
You can choose coverage ranging from $15,000 to $200,000. When you get a quote from our website, you’ll see the prices for each coverage option in the Basic, Standard, and Enhanced plans.
If you’re getting insurance for a super visa, student, work, or visitor visa and you’re getting coverage of $100,000 or more for a year (365 days), you can pay monthly.
Deductibles:
A deductible is what you pay before the insurance starts covering expenses.
We offer different deductible options, which affect how much you pay for insurance. You can choose deductibles from $0 to $10,000.
For the Standard and Enhanced plans, if you’re under 85 years old and choose coverage of $25,000, $50,000, or $100,000, there’s a deductible of $2,500.
If your super visa is refused, you can get a full refund of your premium or cancel your policy. But you’ll need to show proof that your visa was refused.
If you change your plans and leave Canada while on a super visa, you can ask for some of your premium back. But you can only get a partial refund if you go back to your home country and haven’t made any claims.
If you want a partial refund and you’ve already made a claim, you can try to withdraw the claim. But if the claim has been paid or denied, the amount of the claim will be taken out of your refund, and there will be a $300 fee.
To ask for a refund, you need to send a written request within 60 days of returning to your home country.
All refunds need to be approved by 21st Century Travel Insurance Limited.
There’s also a $25 fee for processing any refund requests.
You’ll need to fill out a refund request form.
