STUDENT VISA MEDICAL INSURANCE
To make sure your parents or grandparents get a super visa, you need to have special medical insurance. According to Canadian immigration rules, this insurance should give at least $100,000 in medical coverage for a year (365 days). We know getting this insurance is important for you. We offer three affordable plans – Basic, Standard, and Enhanced – to cover different health conditions, considering both your parents’ health needs and your budget.
WHY US
Health insurance with coverage of $100,000 or more for one year.
Only the Enhanced plan covers stable pre-existing conditions.
You can get discounts for bringing along friends and family.
You'll get all your money back if your visa isn't approved before the start date for any reason.
You can pay monthly if you prefer.
You can choose deductibles from $0 to $10,000 to lower your premium costs.
The Enhanced Plan covers stable pre-existing conditions like high blood pressure, heart issues, diabetes, high cholesterol, lung problems, and other similar conditions.
Ineligibility criteria for student or work visa medical insurance include the following circumstances:
- Traveling against the advice of a physician.
- Diagnosis of a terminal illness with a life expectancy of less than two (2) years.
- Diagnosis or treatment for pancreatic, lung, brain, or liver cancer within the last two (2) years, or any form of metastatic cancer.
- Undergoing or awaiting organ or bone marrow transplant (excluding corneal transplant).
- Kidney condition requiring dialysis.
- Use of home oxygen in the 12 months preceding the application.
- Residing in a nursing home, other long-term care facility, or rehabilitation center.
- Age 86 or older, unless purchasing the Basic Plan.
Pre-existing medical conditions encompass illnesses, diseases, or injuries for which you have been prescribed medication or received treatment from a physician within 180 days before the effective date of your insurance policy. Examples of such conditions include high blood pressure (BP), heart issues, diabetes, lung conditions, cholesterol-related concerns, and others.
If you are aged 55 or below, our enhanced insurance policy covers pre-existing medical conditions, provided these conditions have remained stable in the last 180 days. Stability implies the absence of new symptoms or changes in existing symptoms, no worsening of existing symptoms, and no recommendations from your physician for new medications or treatments (further details can be found in the policy wordings).
For individuals aged between 56 and 85 purchasing the Enhanced insurance policy, a medical declaration form must be completed to ascertain eligibility for coverage of pre-existing medical conditions. Our online application process will guide you through the completion of the medical declaration form.
We offer Basic, Standard, and Enhanced medical coverage plans, each with various coverage and deductible options.
Coverage:
Customers can choose coverage options ranging from $15,000 to $200,000. By obtaining a free quote from our website, they can access premium rates for each coverage option across Basic, Standard, and Enhanced plans.
Additionally, a monthly payment plan is available for one-year (365 days) medical insurance purchases with coverage amounts exceeding $100,000.
Deductibles:
A deductible is the amount paid out of pocket before the insurance provider covers any expenses. We provide different deductible options, each corresponding to a reduction in insurance cost upon purchase.
Deductibles range from $0 to $10,000. Notably, a $2,500 deductible applies exclusively to Standard and Enhanced Coverage options with coverage amounts of $25,000, $50,000, and $100,000 for individuals up to the age of 85.
A 100% premium refund or policy cancellation option is available in the event of visa refusal. To be eligible for a premium refund, proof of visa refusal must be provided.
If there is a change in your stay in Canada, you can request partial refunds on the premium. However, partial refund requests are considered only if you can provide proof of returning to your country of origin or if you are covered under government health insurance, with no claims paid or denied.
If you apply for a partial refund and a claim has been paid or denied, you may request the withdrawal of such claim(s). The refunded amount will be reduced by the amount of the claim(s) paid, along with a $300 file handling fee.
Premium refund requests must be submitted in writing within 60 days following the date you return to your country of origin or become covered under government health insurance.
All refund requests are subject to approval by 21st Century Travel Insurance Limited, and a $25 policy administration fee will be charged for any refund request.
